Despite holding multiple rallies in Kiambu county and the larger Mt Kenya region, William Ruto has deliberately avoided Uhuru Kenyatta’s home constituency of Gatundu South, the last time him being there was in 2019 while he and the Head of State were still on good terms.

However, in the Thursday visit, he will be going back after falling out with his boss and is no longer a part of the ruling Jubilee Party. DP Ruto will be hosted by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants and elected leaders from Kiambu county.
