Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has described UDA running mate Rigathi Gachagua’s last remarks on Kenya Police uniform as unfortunate and demeaning to the church, days after the Mathira MP said once his Kenya Kwanza camp takes over the government, they will reintroduce the old blue uniforms and discard the new ones.
“Even that blue uniform that you do not want will be removed and we will return the old ones. The blue ones will be given back to the PCEA church because it is the uniform that belongs to the Women’s Guild,” Gachagua had said.

Speaking on Tuesday at Kameme FM, Dr. Kibicho said the new uniforms were locally made and the state’s insistence on local manufacturers to produce the uniforms has rubbed tenderprenuers who benefitted from the procurement of the attires overseas the wrong way.
”Our officers now are better kitted at much lower costs. The policy has tremendously grown the local textile industry and created many direct and indirect jobs that support thousands of families,” Kibicho saíd.
