President Uhuru over the weekend told an indoor meeting of Kiambu leaders the person he is supporting for the top seat will emerge the winner in August.

The meeting that brought together loyalists and aspirants of the Jubilee Party from Kiambu county also saw Uhuru appeal to those eyeing seats on the ruling party’s ticket not to jump ship even after primaries, and that there is enough space for everyone in his camp and in the next administration.

“I know the person whom I am telling you to support (referring to Raila), is definitely going to win. It is my appeal to all of you that even after party primaries, irrespective of whether you will have received the ticket to vie for the seats, stand with our house,” the president said.

”My house as Uhuru is big, the Jubilee Party is big, and even the incoming government is equally big and will have space for you. I will stand with you and I will be here with you so that we take care of the interests of the community,” he added.

At the meeting, President Uhuru who was given the mandate to lead Jubilee even after his retirement in August also promised to facilitate the aspirants and bankroll their campaigns.

“Anyone who is looking for a party ticket, will be facilitated. If you are having an activity, you will be supported with Jubilee merchandise. But you will have to make prior arrangements for proper planning. And if there is anywhere we have premises where it’s possible to brand them with our party colours, let it be done so that our party can be everywhere.”

The president spoke on phone with the group which was converged at a local joint along Kiambu Road on Saturday night.

Leaders present included Transport PS Joseph Njoroge, State House Principal Administrative Secretarive Kennedy Kihara, CAK chair Ngene Gituki, David Murathe, and MKU Chair Simon Gicharu.
