The National Police Service has issued a statement following the stoning of Deputy President William Ruto’s convoy in Kondele, Kisumu this afternoon as he attempted to hold a political rally.
According to NPS Director of Corporate Communications Bruno Isoshi Siosho, the chaos in Kisumu were caused by two factions of UDA youth fighting over money issued by the DP. Mr. Siosho also reveals state agents forewarned the DP over the tension and urged him to skip the volatile area.

The DP, who landed in Kisumu last evening to kick-off his three day tour of Luo Nynaza as he popularises his 2022 presidential bid was supposed to wind up his engagements in Kisumu county at Kondele. However, as he passed through the center, some youth pelted his convoy with stones.
