Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has lashed out at Deputy President William Ruto who he accuses of having a ‘dictator mentality in his United Democratic Alliance (UDA), telling the DP Kenya was not ready to slip back to KANU style one-party politics of the 80s and 90s.
Speaking in Kiambaa on Wednesday, the legislator said Mt Kenya leaders and the country at large were not ready to fold their parties and that for Ruto to label them as tribal parties was missing the point.

”I have heard some people going around the country saying that other parties are tribal parties. We once had a national party, and the only party, KANU, and we all saw the consequences. There are some designs of other people to take us back to one-party dictatorship. We went to the streets to fight for democracy, we are not going back there,” the MP said.
In an apparent reference to his former allies in Tanga Tanga, the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) leader said no leader should brag of having the Mt Kenya vote-block under their grip, and that attempts to kill small parties in the vote-rich region are aimed at isolating it from the decision-making table.

”Let no one brag that they are a national party. I know some people want to remove our region from the equation of the next dispensation because they believe our region is in their pockets. I want to say ole wao,” the MP added.
