Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has called on the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) to join them in Raila’s camp or risk being swept into political oblivion next year.

Speaking on Thursday, the Jubilee party legislator disclosed leaders from Mt Kenya had resolved to back the ODM leader for the presidency in 2022 and any other aspirants will be regarded as an opponent against Central Kenya’s interests.

”It is either they join Raila or they perish. There are no two ways about it. They should know that Mt Kenya has decided to vote for Raila next year,” Kamanda said.

OKA, comprising Amani National Congress (ANC), Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM), Ford Kenya, and KANU is currently in a limbo following revelations the leader of KANU will be charting his own political path outside the besieged outfit.

”In essence, a political party exists to capture power. For us as Kanu, we are planning and very soon you will be hearing it from our chairman himself about our 2022 plans,” KANU SG Nick Salat said last week.

Jubilee, the ruling party has already embarked on the formalisation of a 2022 pre-election pact with ODM, a move seen to cement the working relationship between President Uhuru and Raila Odinga.

Sources within the corridors of power reveal Uhuru and Raila are bringing together their allies, and other smaller parties together under a single coalition led by the former prime minister.
