A day after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 7th, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo met Raila Odinga at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation along Kiambere Road, in Nairobi. On Thursday, the ODM leader announced he had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

“We have confirmed that Rt. Hon Raila Odinga has SARS-2 COVID-19. He is responding well to treatment he is receiving at The Nairobi Hospital and remains upbeat. We are continuing to monitor his progress,” Dr. Olunya, Raila’s personal physician said on Thursday night.

After the news of Raila’s health hit headlines, Kabogo informed Kenyans on social media that he had a meeting with the ODM leader three days earlier.

”I met Baba on Monday 8th March 2021 at 11:10am at his Jaramogi foundation office. Will test kesho. Get well soon my friend. In God we trust,” the former Kiambu Governor tweeted on Thursday.

Apart from Kabogo, those who have had close contact with the ODM leader are said to have taken the test. Among them ODM party officials, including Phillip Etale, the ODM Director of Communications. Who has also tested positive for the virus.
