I am ready to ditch UDA, Kirinyaga Woman Rep

2 mins read

Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici has fired a warning shot to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and its leadership saying she has not run out of options on what vehicle to use in next year’s August polls, and that she is ready to face her competitor Governor Anne Waiguru anywhere and anytime.

Ngirici’s statement is coming just a day after Governor Anne Waiguru’s goons brought down the Woman Rep’s posters which were erected in the county, escalating the rivalry between the two leaders.

Unlike Waiguru who is still consulting residents before making her political move, the Kirinyaga Woman Rep says she knows what the ground looks like.

”I am not afraid of any possible competition from Waiguru, who is still listening to what the ground is saying when we are already past that level. I know how the ground looks like since I am always with the people unlike the governor, who is still listening to what the ground is saying before she decides on her next move,” Purity Ngirici said on Monday at Ndia.

Over the past few days, Governor Waiguru has repeatedly shown her interest in jumping ship to the wheelbarrow party and there are reports she could be the DP’s favorite to fly the UDA flag in her Kirinyaga county as she seeks re-elections next year for her second term.

However, Woman Rep Ngirici who has stood by the DP after his fall out with President Uhuru notes that should UDA ditch her, then she would jump ship as she is not tethered to the party like a goat.
