Meru Senator Mithika Linturi is having a hard time campaigning for his gubernatorial bid on the UDA ticket across Meru county.
From poorly attended rallies to running into hostile crowds and rowdy youth chanting ‘Azimio’ and the name of its flagbearer Raila Odinga, the Meru senator continues to find it hard selling Kenya Kwanza alliance and its presidential candidate despite him camping in the region from 2019.
The big shift of support to Azimio Coalition and Raila Odinga’s side in Meru is said to have been hugely contributed by the joining forces of Governor Kiraitu Murungi and Agriculture CS Peter Munya – who stepped down from the gubernatorial race.
Both Governor Kiraitu and CS Peter Munya are sitting in Mr. Odinga’s thinktank as he consolidates the country behind his fifth stab at the presidency.
