Kalonzo Has Every Right to be Azimio’s 2027 Flagbearer but he Must Calm Down

Brace Yourself As I Make Ruto A One-Term President Come 2027: Kalonzo

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka says he will be the ideal candidate to liberate Kenyans from Kenya Kwanza oppressive leadership and heavy taxation.

Speaking in Kaiti Constituency, Makueni County, during a burial ceremony, Musyoka said as a member of the opposition party, his role is to ensure that Kenya Kwanza did not win a second term in 2027.

He indicated that he is prepared to exert more political pressure in 2027 than he had ever done.

“Brace yourself for a battle royale as I try to make William Ruto a one-term President for the sake of this country, so brace yourself up, as I did announce my candidature in Homabay,” he stated.

“The fact that William Ruto is now properly in place as President, I want to announce to you guys that we are in properly in place as official opposition. Therefore, we become the government.”

Musyoka said the Opposition would keep up its oversight duties and make sure that they are against the heavy taxations including the tax levy on affordable housing that Kenyans are forced to pay.

The Wiper party leader has since the beginning of 2024 stepped up his campaign to become the Azimio Party flagbearer in 2027.

Musyoka in an interview with Taifa Leo had claimed that Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua who deputized Raila in the 2022 general election is a nonstarter in the 2027 presidential race.

However, Karua told off her political ally Musyoka urging him to focus on campaigning for himself as the voters have a final say on their preferred political choice.

“My unsolicited advice to my brother Kalonzo Musyoka is to focus on marketing himself and leave the decision of who is best to the voters,” she said.

Here is the deal. Kalonzo Musyoka with his record and experience in Kenyan politics could be a very good candidate for Azimio to talk this scary Ruto government out where they just make announcements, take media pictures every day, and do nothing for Kenyans.

But the process is complex. First of all if Raila gets the job as the chairperson of the AU that will be next year. Kalonzo, ODM and Azimio have to live with Raila for a whole year from now. He is going to be a little quiet to go that level but he is there with you in the country.

Kenyans know who he is and if they need Raila they are going to ask him to show up for the republic and he will if it is necessary. We know that about Raila Amolo Odinga.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has officially announced that he is ready to contest for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson job.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Mr. Odinga stated that he had a myriad of consultations with his friends prior to the decision.

“Should the leadership of Africa want my services I am ready and offer myself to be of service to this continent. I’m ready yes to go for the chairmanship of the African Union,” said Odinga.

Odinga shared his discontentment over the appalling state of affairs in African countries which ironically are rich in resources.

While terming it a “brain drain”, Odinga said that he is displeased with how African youth are forced to cross borders to other continents under arduous conditions just to eke out a living.

The firebrand political leader therefore said if he clinches the seat, he will be determined to transform the face of Africa and realign it to become an economic superpower.

“As a Pan-Afrcaninst I believe strongly that Africa is playing in the league that it should not play. That Africa deserves better,” he noted.

“This is something we need to reverse and it can only be reversed if we as a continent marshal all our resources for the faster socio-economic growth of our continent.”

He said that owing to his tenure as the African Union (AU) special envoy for infrastructure development in Africa from 2018 to 2023, he is a fit candidate to scoop the position since he best understands the socio-economic conditions across the continent.

“That position gave me a good advantage to be able to learn about each and every African country and I believe that working with all these countries we can be able to emancipate Africa,” he said.

Odinga stated that he has spoken to former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, who was present in the address, to mobilize leaders across the continent “and talk to other people elsewhere”.

Obasanjo said that it is finally time for the AUC chairperson mantle to rest in East Africa.

The AUC chairperson seat will fall vacant next year as its current occupant, Chad’s Moussa Faki, is set to finish his two-term at the position.

Faki was first appointed in 2017 and won a second term in 2021.

AUC chairperson’s role

The AUC chairperson is the topmost official of the continental bloc as he/she acts as the Chief Executive Officer, legal representative of the AU, and the Commission’s Chief Accounting Officer.

The Chairperson of the Commission is elected by the Assembly for a four-year term, renewable once.

Their functions include: overseeing the Commission’s administration and finances, promoting and popularising the AU’s objectives and enhancing its performance, consulting and coordinating with key stakeholders, and appointing and managing Commission staff.

They also act as a depository for all AU and OAU treaties and legal instruments.

Then there is the ODM hustle as to who will replace Raila Odinga as the ODM leader. That is a fair battle and debate. Raila cannot do three things at the same time and hold leadership positions everywhere. But ODM is a national party and every Kenyan knows that. Without ODM the country would not have our beloved 2010 constitution which we will make better as a country.

ODM does not claim national leadership as a Luo entity but as a national organization for our country. That is how its next leadership after Raila will be decided and then the nation moves to the presidential election in 2027

Odinga’s silence on his own succession and whether he will seek the presidency for a sixth time has left many speculating about the future of the opposition coalition.

Personally, I think a Kalonzo sort for Azimio candidate could be pretty good. He would have to take Oparanya as his VP or Gladys Wanga (my favorite) and put Martha Karua and Joho in the sports that Mudavadi and the likes of Duale are with KK.

Politics is a complicated business. That is what ODM and Azimio has to learn and they know it. The logistics are very complicated. And the Ruto KK regime is looking like a complete joke for the country.
