Nakuru county boss Lee Kinyanjui has dived into the raging debate of who among the leading presidential candidates will the country be safe in his hands, saying it was only Raila Odinga who has what it takes to build on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legacy.

Speaking on Friday in Makueni county, Governor Kinyanjui hit out at leaders with empty promises but do not deliver while in office and asked the Kenyan voter to rely on track record of people seeking their votes next year.

”For me and my people, we have looked and feel we are safer under Raila Odinga. For those of us who have been in office, you run on record not on promise. The people who run on promise are those who have not been in office,” the governor said in Wote, at the Azimio la Umoja convention yesterday.

Last month while appearing on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live, COTU boss Francis Atwoli said Mt Kenya people must ask themselves in whose hands they will be safe, between ODM boss Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto if either of them takes over from President Uhuru Kenyatta next year.
