Wajir Woman Rep Fatuma Gedi has been ordered by the Speaker of National Assembly Justin Muturi to provide evidence Deputy President William Ruto has grabbed land across the country during a Tuesday afternoon debate where the vocal legislator described the DP as the ‘godfather of land grabbing.’

”The problem of land grabbing is not only at the Coast. We know the people who have grabbed land, including the Langata Primary School. We know the person who grabbed that land. We know who owns land in Taita Taveta, Mr. Speaker. We know who grabbed land in Laikipia. The same person is the presidential candidate for the Kenya Kwanza Alliance,” the Jubilee Party Woman Rep said before being interrupted by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa who demanded she substantiates and provide evidence of her claims to members.

”Fatuma Gedi has said the person who has grabbed in those places is the Kenya Kwanza candidate. In line with our procedures, when you mention candidates of particular coalitions who are known, Fatuma Gedi is obliged to either substantiate or provide evidence that the particular candidate has grabbed land,” Kimani Ichungwa interrupted on a point of order, prompting the woman rep to promise to give evidence to further substantiate her claims on Thursday at 2 pm.

”In two days, I will give the evidence on how William Ruto has grabbed land in this country. I will get to the details on Thursday,” Fatuma Gedi said.
