Dr. Matiang’i Summoned to Appear before the DCI Serious Crimes Unit Tomorrow

The DCI Serious Crimes Unit has summoned former Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i to appear at DCI headquarters tomorrow February 24, failure to which he will be liable for prosecution.

According to the summons issued by detective Michael K. Sang, Dr. Matiang’i is to assist the State in its investigations against him on allegations of false information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018.

“I have reasons to believe that you, Dr Fred Matiang’i, the former Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Coordination, is connected to the offence or has information which can assist in my investigations,” the summons read in part.

The notice also adds that there are other offenses concerning the alleged invasion and raid of Dr Matiang’i’s residence that supposedly happened from the night of February 8 to the early hours of February 9.
