Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi says the Kenyan government will not apologise for deporting DP William Ruto’s Turkish associate Harun Aydin.

Gov’t won’t apologise for deporting DP Ruto’s Turkish associate Harun Aydin. Speaking in Nairobi, Dr. Matiangi says Aydin’s deportation was done in collaboration between the two governments which understood Kenya’s commitment to ensuring its citizens are safe.

”No. The Kenyan government has not apologized. The Turkish national was deported on agreement between our two governments. Our security apparatus were in communication before and during the exercise,” Dr. Matiangi said.

Aydin who was linked to Deputy President William Ruto’s aborted trip to Uganda and was deported last week.

The DP has accused government operatives of engaging in “political pettiness” and intimidating his allies due to their political alignment.

“Just talked and apologised on behalf of Government of Kenya to Aydin Harun, now in Turkey, who was politically arrested, tortured and falsely profiled as a ‘terrorist’ but later asked to fly out not to shame those involved. Political pettiness is expensive/dangerous and will destroy our economy. SHAME,” said Ruto.
