Nominated Jubilee MP Sabina Chege has disclosed the government only gave priority to teachers from UDA zones in the recent TSC recruitment, something that has disadvantaged constituencies in Mt Kenya that voted for the Jubilee Party members of Parliament.

In an interview on Sunday night, Ms. Chege blamed her Jubilee Party’s lack of focused leadership which she says led to the government bypassing teachers from Jubilee zones.

Last year December, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced mass recruitment of teachers to curb the ongoing shortage across the country.

The vacancies advertised by the body included 9,000 posts on permanent and pensionable terms of service for secondary school teachers and 1,000 posts on permanent and pensionable terms of service for primary school teachers.

UDA elected leaders were given the privilege to directly pick teachers from their constituencies and forward their names to the TSC for recruitment.

During the interview, the former Muranga Woman rep also asked President Ruto’s government not to exercise vindictiveness on Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees and to desist from blaming the former president for everything bad happening in the country today.

”Stop the side mirror style of vindictiveness where every other time you are referring to what the Mr Kenyatta government did bad or never fulfilled. There are those people who had been appointed to government positions by the predecessor president…let them not be hounded out of office for mere speculation that they are Azimio loyalists,” she said.
