30 administrators have been selected to spearhead the new structure of the National Government Administrative Office (NGAO).

In a statement on Tuesday, State Department for Internal Security and National Administration PS Dr Raymond Omollo said the officers will help in the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

“The plan encompasses an array of transformative programmes and interventions designed to elevate every section of society, with citizens and communities at the lowest level of the social ladder acknowledged in the efforts to revolutionize the country’s landscape of opportunity. We have set about cementing the position of the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) as the driving force behind these strategic interventions and forge an environment where every single mwananchi will not only thrive but also contribute meaningfully to our collective prosperity,” Omollo stated.

The Interior PS announced that the government will conduct a reorientation program for the officers to ensure effective, efficient, and responsive services at all levels.

The selected 30 Trainers of Trainers (ToTs) will be taken through the organization and functions of government; security, peace and safety for citizens and public participation, engagement, and communication.

“The Deputy County Commissioners (DCCs), who were selected on merit, will also be trained on other cross-cutting issues, key among them climate change and employee wellness and psychosocial support, after which they will be deployed to cascade the radical shift in mindset to all the ranks within the NGAOs structure.”
