World Cup: Ghana fails to Pull it Off but Uruguay is Going Nowhere

Here was Luiz Suarez blocking a goal by hand against Ghana in the last second in World Cup 2010 and stopping them to qualify to move ahead to the knockout.

In the penalty, after Suarez stopped the shot, Ghana was unable to convert it to a goal and Uruguay won in the penalty shootout.

Today was a difficult day for both teams. If Ghana won, or tied the game they were headed to the knockout stage. That is what made today’s game involving the two teams very tense. And then Ghana gets a penalty in the first few minutes and Jordan Ayew just made a terrible shot.

Asamoah Gyan lost a penalty against Uruguay too in 2010

Uruguay then scored two goals and by that time, they were headed to the knockout because Portugal was tied with Korea Republic, and it meant Uruguay was heading to the knockout once again at the expense of Ghana.

Then from nowhere Korea scores their second goal against Portugal and that meant they were tied in points with Uruguay for the second slot but Korea had a better goal average and Ghana was very good in the second half.

Uruguay needed to score one more goal to qualify and they put every energy into it but Ghana would not let them have it and just like that, Uruguay was eliminated from the knockout. Poor Luiz Suarez could not bare to look at it from the bench. Karma baby.

Too bad Ghana did not make it to join Senegal and Morocco in the knockout stage of the World Cup to make it three for Africa as of now but they also worked hard enough to stop Uruguay from getting there and now it is Korea making that move.
