Why CS Matiangi has blocked Ruto from leaving the country for Uganda

1 min read

The Ministry of Interior has blocked Deputy President William Ruto from traveling out of the country to Uganda on a private visit, which was scheduled this afternoon. Multiple sources online and media reports reveal the DP was set to hold an extensive strategic meeting with Yoweri Museveni, the Ugandan president.

An entourage comprising the DP’s political strategists, thinktank, and MPs was already in Uganda waiting for their boss to leave Nairobi this afternoon for Entebbe.

There are those who argue, the Deputy President must stop using state resources and privileges which come with being a holder of the DP’s office for his private interests. Especially regarding his 2022 activities, which should not be advanced beyond the borders using government resources.
