Wanjigi to face off with Oparanya, Joho for the ODM 2022 presidential ticket

Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi has joined ODM deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya in fighting it out for the party’s presidential ticket in 2022.

Evetnhough he had declared his intention to go for the presidency last month, Wanjigi, who has been a part of the NASA Summit on Thursday for the first time revealed what party’s ticket he intends to use in making his first stab at the country’s top seat.

”I will be running for the ODM ticket and I’ll be taking on Raila Odinga and that will be my presidential ODM life member, I have what it takes to lead the party and the country, into the future,” the business mogul, prominent with oiling campaigns for leading presidential contenders in 2013 and 2017 told a local publication on Thursday.

With Mr. Wanjigi’s entry into the race, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kakamega counterpart Wycliffe Oparnya now face new competition from the mogul. Party leader Hon Raila Odinga has not declared his intention to run yet, saying he and the president are currently focused on uniting the country through their handshake project.
