BUNGOMA COUNTY is inhabited by the Bukusu as the majority tribe. Edwin Sifuna is a Bukusu. The Bukusu knew Sifuna was ODM Secretary General of ODM Party, yet Bungoma NEVER voted for ODM the entire period Edwin Sifuna was the Secretary General of ODM Party.
Two election cycles, ZERO. There’s not a single ODM MP elected in Bungoma County. Edwin Sifuna comes from Kanduyi. His village MP is not ODM elect. There’s only ONE MCA, elected on ODM, in the Bungoma County Assembly. Bungoma never voted for Raila Odinga in 2022.
The county delivered the vote to William Ruto courtesy of Moses Wetangula, who got rewarded with Speaker of National Assembly. The ODM Party in Western exists in Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia. In Kakamega, the ODM Party was by majority elected in the county and parliamentary elective leadership. Kakamega also voted for Raila Odinga’s presidency.
In Vihiga, ODM defeated Musalia Mudavadi to deliver the county to Raila Odinga, and majority seats to ODM. In Busia, the county delivered to ODM, as it has done for years. Even current Governor, Paul Otuoma, who was duped to leave ODM in 2017 lost the election, learnt his lessons and returned to ODM. He won.
Trans Nzoa, which is inhabited by all communities, tilted to UDA but still delivered some seats to ODM, including the Saboti parliamentary seat. The ODM PARTY will OUTLIVE Edwin Sifuna, who is effectively a one term senator. As the Kikuyu fatten him, they are also sharpening the knife they’ll use to slaughter him.
