There is uproar on social media after two brothers who were arrested for allegedly flouting Covid-19 regulations were found dead in Embu.

The two brothers have been identified as Benson Njiru Ndwiga 22, and Emmanuel Mutura Ndwiga 19 who went missing on Sunday last week only to be found dead at Embu mortuary.

Their parents, John Ndwiga Kamunyuti and Catherine Wawira are calling on relevant authorities to help bring justice claiming that they suspect foul play in the deaths of their children.

The parents have narrated that their sons ran a Pork business at Kianjokoma shopping center and were arrested by police officers from Manyatta police station.

They were reportedly arrested for operating beyond the curfew hours amid the Covid-19 pandemic before later being found dead in a mortuary in Embu.

The parents are suspecting foul play in the death of their sons adding that they were very healthy children who could not have died under normal circumstances.

Embu East police boss Emily Ngaruiya has however dismissed the claims stating that the two boys died after jumping from a moving police vehicle.

A probe into the matter has been opened with a post mortem on their bodies expected to be conducted to ascertain the circumstances under which they died.
