President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga have employed a multipronged strategy to win young Kenyans, overburdened by the weight of a shattered economy and unemployment.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Kasarani where he presided over the unveiling of 750 winners of the MbeleNaBiz, Business Plan Competition, and the launch of the 2020 to 2024 Youth Enterprise Development Fund strategic plan.
At the meeting, the Head of State drummed up support for the BBI saying it will put in place the right frameworks for their businesses to thrive. The Head of State challenged the winners of the World Bank sponsored initiative, to utilise the grants awarded to them to grow their businesses, create employment for fellow youth, uplift themselves and innovate solutions to challenges facing the country.
On his part, ODM leader Raila Odinga hosted the youth from Meru county at the Ufungamano House, to drum up support for the BBI. The ODM leader called out those opposed to the BBI , asking them to not use disinformation to try taint the BBI.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga meetings with the youth come hot on the heels of a massive win by BBI proponents, after more than 35 county assemblies endorsed the bill.
