Minority Leader in the Nairobi County Assembly MCA Anthony Kiragu claims Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja facilitated the Azimio Coalition rally held in Kamukunji yesterday, a gathering that was led by Raila Odinga and other coalition principals.

”We are aware he facilitated the planning of that meeting. He donated Charter Hall on Sunday afternoon where groups were meeting during the day to strategise, mobilise and to do fundraising of that event,” the Minority Leader told the media on Tuesday at City Hall.

”We are appealing to him to stop wearing a yellow T-shirt during the day and a blue one at night…We are aware that he did not just provide a venue but he financed it and money was collected from his private offices at Riverside.”

The Minority leader is now challenging Governor Sakaja to come out and openly declare his support for the Azimio Coalition.

In a video that has since gone viral online, Governor Sakaja maintains he was not apologetic after choosing to work with the former prime minister.

“I have no apologies for working with Raila Odinga. And I have no apologies for working with William Ruto. In fact, on the day that Raila and Ruto will have a sit-down, I am the one who will facilitate that. Nairobi is not home to any particular community or political party. So, just like the President, Raila should also be respected,” Sakaja says in the clip.
