Kenya Kwanza leadership is unhappy with Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba’s remarks on the Finance Bill 2023 and her Wednesday comments that it was President William Ruto who proposed an increase in taxes on Kenyans.

According to reports from the ruling coalition, the Githunguri MP on Thursday received a call from State House after defying the coalition’s stand on the Finance Bill.

The call, our source says warned the lawmaker against turning her back on UDA and the Kenya Kwanza coalition’s resolution at State House to pass the bill.

Githunguri residents have besieged their MP to vote against the bill and also asked her to fight for them in parliament by not passing the proposed bill.

While engaging her voters, Wamuchomba observed they were against the bill in which a raft of new taxation has been introduced.
