State House spokesperson Kanze Dena has dismissed reports in a section of the media claiming President Uhuru Kenyatta had canceled with Mt Kenya MPs slated for this Friday at State House.
In a statement to newsrooms on Thursday afternoon, Kanze Dena says the information circulating online on the purported meeting was misleading and that the Head of State did not postpone or convene such a meeting.
”The President did not convene nor postpone any such meeting. Therefore, the information is false and misleading. His Excellency President Kenyatta’s diary for the remainder of the week and the weekend ahead has several public engagements of which Kenyans will be duly informed through established platforms,” the statement from State House reads in part.

Earlier, the reports claimed those invited to the State House meeting included Governors, Senators, and Members of Parliament with no details on the agenda of the meeting indicated in the invite.
“Good evening Mheshimiwa. I wish to invite you for a meeting of all MPs, Senators and Governors from the Mt Kenya region at Statehouse Nairobi on Friday, 18th March 2022, from 10am. Kindly confirm attendance now,” the alleged invite from President Uhuru read.
