Deputy President William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) brigade will be in Gatundu South constituency today where the group has lined up a series of political rallies including one outside the country’s first president Jomo Kenyatta’s gate in Ichaweri.

According to reports, an emboldened Ruto has resolved to face President Uhuru Kenyatta head-on following his endorsement as the UDA presidential ticket and is opening a new war front with the Head of State.

The roadside stops will start at Kenyatta Road – off Thika Rd, Kimunyu trading centre, Gatukuyu, Gituamba, Mutomo, Ichaweri and Gatundu town  among other areas.

At Ichaweri and Mutomo stops, a high-ranking member of UDA from Kiambu county reveals the DP has instructed his lieutenants to talk about the land dispute the First Family is entangled in with locals.

Ruto’s visit to Ichaweri is of great political significance. It is also the first after his fall out with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The last time Ruto was in Gatundu South was four years ago. Today, he will be accompanied by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria (Chama Cha Kazi), Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress), William Kabogo (Tujibebe Wakenya Party) among other leaders.
