As William Ruto enters what could be the most crucial week in his entire political life and definitely on his presidency very strange things are happening. Ruto was in Nyahururu in his usual church events but this was different.
Outside the church there were protests against Ruto and his Finance Bill 2024 but even inside the church things were very different as the Bishop welcomed and thanked the Gen Z protestors against Ruto’s budget and even Ruto himself was forced to welcome and thank the demonstrators and promised to talk and work with them. The ground is shifting, no doubt about that.
Protests break out outside ACK Nyahururu church where Ruto & Gachagua are attending service
Videos shared online show hundreds of protesters, mostly in black chanting anti-government songs. The sheer bravery of these Kenyans is breathtaking. Keep it going.
The heavy police deployment was as a result of hashtags “Occupy the Church” and “Occupy Nyahururu” that trended on social media platform X, on Saturday June 23.
Organisers of the anti-Finance Bill protests had in their program emphasized that politicians who voted ‘Yes’ for the Finance Bill should not be allowed to speak in the churches on Sunday.
In their seven-day plan, organizers of ‘Reject Finance Bill’ protests had noted that on Monday, June 24, they will make a courtesy call on MPs who voted ‘Yes’ at constituency offices.
It was kind of funny to hear William Ruto praise the Gen Z protestors while his police officers are killing them but he must have realized these young Kenyans have captured the heart of the country and nobody is backing off to let Ruto and his clueless politicians just destroy the country.
“Our young people have stepped forward to engage in the affairs of their country. They have done a democratic duty to stand and be recognized and I want to tell you that we are going to have a conversation with you so that we can identify your issues and we can work together as a nation and streamline your issues.
“I am very proud of our young people. They have stepped forward tribeless, they have stepped forward peacefully and I want to tell them we are going to engage so that together we can build a better nation,” Ruto said.
“What I want to encourage them is that we are concerned about their issues.”
Ruto makes a promise to youth amid intense Finance Bill 2024 opposition
President William Ruto has promised a dialogue between his government and the youth, who have risen up to oppose the Finance Bill 2024.
This is Ruto’s first reaction to the calls by the youth to have their issues heard, especially on the controversial bill that is currently a subject of debate in the National Assembly.
“Our young people have stepped forward to engage in the affairs of their country. They have done a democratic duty to stand and be recognized. I want to tell you that we are going to have a conversation with you so that we can identify your issues and we can work together as a nation,” Ruto assured during a church service he attended in Nyahururu, Laikipia County, on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
That is what President Ruto said even as many of his political boys and girls still have no idea what to do and are being chased away from every public event all over the country. Ruto may have to build a detention centre for his MPs voting Yes because Kenyans do not want to see them anywhere and a lot of them are just plain stupid.
One big development has happened this weekend in Kenya. Kenyan churches and religious groups have fully endorsed the Zakayo Shuka rebellion. They have won the love of the country by their non-violent protests all over the land. There is no tribalism, no region politics of shareholders, and the respect they have for each other where Kenyans male and female activists having a great time together. Our country has never seen this before and it has melted the heart of the nation.
“We do say we want to listen to you. What is happening is something unexpected and extraordinary. The Gen Zs have no tribe, no religion, no class but they are our children not enemies of the nation,” he said.
He urged the police not to use excessive force while dealing with the protesters and the Gen Zs likewise to keep the law.
“Let us be civil each and every one of us,” Ole Sapit said. We are moving forward as a nation and it is great.
And the Ruto boys are stuck in their own hell they created for themselves. Let them stay there before Kenyans kick them out of office.
And then of course you have the usual Ruto thugs like Farouk Kibet who think they own the country even as their time in power is running out. This known Ruto terrorist in Kenya is talking about the Gen Z activists as terrorists. That is how sick the Ruto regime is.
The Ruto regime has no idea what to do with this Zakayo Shuka Youth rebellion and they don’t know what to tell their big guy other than manufacturing very unhelpful nonsense for the boss to eat. It is not going to work. When you are sinking the first thing you do is to stop digging. They don’t get it.
Gen-Z funded by foreigners to protest against Finance Bill – Isaac Mwaura
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura on Saturday, June 22, 2024 accused some foreign power of sponsoring Gen-Z to protest against the Finance Bill in different parts of the country.
During a press briefing, Mwaura alleged that there were certain powerful international players financing Gen-Z protests against the Finance Bill.
According to the government spokesperson, some international players were not pleased with President William Ruto’s stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“Gen Z please listen to me, there are genuine people who are asking genuine questions but there is a group somewhere if I look keenly from afar there could be a foreign hand into this issue,” Mwaura said.
“This is because our president has spoken many things about us internationally. He has said that we must counter climate change and rallied the whole of Africa together and maybe some people are not happy,” he added.
Mwaura further alleged that some foreign powers were not happy with Ruto’s efforts to end reliance on the United States dollar as the main currency for international trade.
Mwaura further remarked that some international players were not happy that Ruto had stated Kenya was being affected by the Russian conflict.
His remarks emerged a few days after Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi alleged that some foreign power was behind the ‘Occupy Parliament’ protests in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
In a statement on June 19, 2024, Ngunyi noted that the ‘Reject Finance Bill’ protests led by Kenyan youth were being sponsored by some foreign powers, unhappy with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
At the same time, the political analyst advised members of parliament to not only look at protesting citizens but also external forces behind the demonstrations.
“Dear MPs, have you considered that a foreign power, unhappy with Ruto wants to Occupy Parliament?
“This protest against Finance Bill 2024 is not organic. Telephone numbers etc.. Someone wants to destabilize Kenya and create an Arab Spring! And our foolish children are the toys,” Mutahi Ngunyi noted in a statement posted on X.
