Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has dismissed talk about him using the ANC ticket on his pursuit for the county’s gubernatorial position this August saying he has never been a member of the Mudavadi led party and will be squaring it out with other aspirants for the UDA ticket in Nairobi.
Speaking to a local publication on Friday, Sakaja explained that despite accompanying Musalia to ANC rallies across the country from 2019, he has never had any plans of joining the party and that after the split of the Jubilee Party, he went straight to UDA.

“When did I join ANC? I was in Jubilee and when I left I went straight to UDA. We are now gearing up for nominations on April 14,” the Nairobi senator said.
According to reports, a section of ANC is questioning why the senator has been championing Musalia Mudavadi’s presidency yet he was secretly a UDA member with some saying Sakaja was sent to DP Ruto in 2018 to hold Mudavadi – something he perfectly executed.
