Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday inaugurated Nairobi’s NCLEX-RN Test Centre, alongside Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha S. Wafula and Principal Secretaries: Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni Muriuki, CBS and Principal Secretary Diaspora Affairs Roseline K. Njogu.

The groundbreaking move signifies a departure from traditional practices, liberating Kenyan nurses from needing to undergo examinations in South Africa or India.

The establishment of the NCLEX Centre in Nairobi anticipates transformative benefits, offering a substantial reduction in examination costs by over 50%. Proactively addressing this initiative, KMTC has developed a comprehensive NCLEX Preparatory course curriculum, empowering nurses to succeed on their first attempt.

This is an assessment provider in charge of the administration of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), a crucial test for nursing licensure across the USA, Canada, and Australia.

Under the visionary leadership of the Ministry of Health, collaboration with line ministries and various partners is underway to generate additional job opportunities for nurses. This aligns seamlessly with the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA).

This development positions Kenyan nurses to contribute to the Diaspora, creating opportunities for increased remittances, Foreign Direct Investment, and fostering employment and enterprise development.

Beyond bringing convenience, the launch opens doors for enhanced professional growth for Kenyan nurses, reflecting a positive stride in the healthcare sector’s evolution.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia expressed his gratitude to those behind the initiative in partnership with the State Department for Diaspora Affairs in his ministry and the Kenyan Embassy in Washington DC.
