PS Omollo, EU Delegation Meet Ahead of Kenya-EU Security Dialogue in Brussels

Interior PS Dr. Raymond Omollo on Monday, September 11th met the European Ambassador to Kenya Henriette Geiger, and her delegation in Nairobi, ahead of the Kenya-European Security Dialogue which will take later this year.

According to Dr. Omollo, the EU has been instrumental in its support to governments and communities across the Horn of Africa in efforts to counter violent extremism, money laundering, and terrorist financing as well as improving investigatory and judicial skills and helping prosecute terrorist offenses.

”We discussed national and regional security concerns with focus on preparations for the Kenya-EU Security Dialogue to be held in Brussels, Belgium later this year.

Ambassador Geiger also took the opportunity to introduce the new Deputy Head of Mission, EU Delegation to Kenya, Ondrej Simek,” the Interior PS said.

The EU-Kenya Strategic Dialogue frames the exchanges between Kenya and the European Union. The EU is a key political partner on issues of common strategic interest, and Kenya’s biggest trading partner and source of foreign direct investment.

The goal of the Strategic Dialogue is to deepen the partnership between Kenya and the EU focusing on exchanges of knowledge and expertise leading to the shared implementation of improved policies and projects, including the Global Gateway deployment in the country.
