President Uhuru summons Raila, OKA principals to State House

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will today, Tuesday 10th have a round table meeting with One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals at State House in Mombasa, where the Head of State has been for the last one week after landing from the UK. ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper, KANU’s Gideon Moi, and Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya delegations’ are said to have made abrupt travel plans from Nairobi to Mombasa upon receiving the information.

Yesterday Mudavadi attended Kalonzo Musyoka’s official opening of the Kalonzo Musyoka 2022 Presidential Command Center in Karen where the leaders vowed to soldier on with One Kenya Alliance’s quest for power next year. Also present at the launch in Karen were representatives from Ford Kenya led by Kimilili MP Chris Wamalwa and those from KANU under executive director George Wainaina.

Even though the agenda of today’s meeting has not leaked to the media yet, there are those from corridors of power who say President Uhuru is taking charge of his succession politics exactly a year to the general election, after meeting the extended Kenyatta family on Wednesday last week.

”Politics is about to begin. This is a meeting on how to capture in 2022. Who is most appropriate to carry his legacy forward. He is going to make it clear what direction he wants the country to go when he retires,” one source says.

Another source however says Uhuru and Raila have received information regarding the BBI Appeals ruling and are now ready to craft their political alliance. The Mombasa meeting, therefore, is to put on the table different 2022 options that will see Deputy President William Ruto and his Hustler nation politics obliterated from every corner of the republic.

”The BBI Appeals ruling is out. The president and Raila were briefed by their legal teams on Monday night,” she says.

Today’s meeting by the president at State House with those supporting his agenda come days after Deputy President William Ruto hosted close to 120 MPs allied to him at his Karen residence, and drawing a line on the sand.

It Is also interesting to note, last week, ODM leader Raila Odinga who has also been in Mombasa separately met President Uhuru Kenyatta and the matriarch of the Kenyatta family, Mama Ngina Kenyatta at their private residence in Nyali.
