Dr. Evans Kidero could be barred from running as Homabay Governor of reports from the corridors of Justice, and the Office of the Deputy Public Prosecutor (ODPP) are to go by.
In 2018 while appearing before Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti in the Anti-Corruption Court in Milimani, the Independent Homabay gubernatorial candidate together with 7 others were charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption and fraud leading to loss of public funds in the sum of Kshs. 213,327,300 for services not rendered.

A source who confided to this publication says Kidero and impeached Nairobi governor Mike Sonko are likely to be technically kicked out of the August polls race over the leadership and integrity act.
On Thursday, High Court judge John Mativo issued fresh orders blacking IEBC from clearing Sonko who is seeking to succeed outgoing Governor Hassan Joho on a Wiper ticket.
