Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya has dismissed Musalia Mudavadi’s 2022 presidential bid, saying the Amani National Congress (ANC) leader does not have the political connections or the much-needed network for any serious presidential candidate.
Speaking in Kakamega on Thursday, the deputy ODM leader said next year’s presidential race was between his party leader, Raila Odinga, and Deputy President William Ruto, of UDA.

”The politics of 2022 is between two individuals. Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto. Those are the only two horses, the rest are donkeys,” the Kakamega governor said.
Multiple reports indicate Mr. Odinga is banking on Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa among other Western leaders to lead his hunt for the Luhya vote. Also in Raila’s camp is the National Assembly Chief Whip Emmanuel Wangwe.
Others are Governors Wycliffe Wangamati (Busia), Wilberforce Otichillo (Vihiga) and Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia).
