The One Kenya Alliance comprising Gideon Moi, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetangula may not live to see the August 2022 elections. A new wave of mistrust has rocked the three month old outfit, with reports Baringo Senator and KANU leader Gideon Moi skipping a number of crucial meetings held by the other OKA principals, to plan for 2022.
Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula’s allies in OKA have fingered the KANU Chairman for being an Odinga inside man in the new alliance, whose intention has been to isolate ODM leader Raila Odinga in 2022. The three party leaders (ANC, WDM, Ford-Kenya) accuse Mr. Odinga and the ODM Party of undermining other NASA principals and not sticking a supposed 2017 pre-election pact requiring ODM not to field a presidential candidate in 20122.
Meanwhile, former NASA principals Wetangula, Mudavadi and Musyoka are working out a formula to exit the National Super Alliance and field one of them for presidency in 2022. Yesterday, the three held a meeting at a Nairobi hotel to discuss the future of NASA, which they have repeatedly declared dead.
”Today the NASA principals Moses Wetang’ula of Ford-Kenya, Musalia Mudavadi of Amani National Congress and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya met and discussed a wide range of issues concerning the current political landscape in the country,” read a joint statement issued on Tuesday by the three party leaders read in part.
Confirming the meeting, ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi said they met as NASA principals and the fate of the outfit shall be known soon. He also revealed NASA partner parties were warming up to other formations.
”The fate of NASA is to be known soon. We met as NASA principals, not as One Kenya Alliance. They pronounced NASA dead but still wear its carcass whenever it suits them. The reality now is that NASA partner parties are either working independently or warming up for other formations,” the ANC leader said.
