Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir received a huge boost yesterday as more than 200 aspirants backed his bid to succeed Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Nassir is battling for ODM nominations with former Jubilee candidate Suleiman Shabhal who defected to ODM Party two months ago.
The aspirants for various MCA and MP seats included incumbent Likoni MP Mishi Mboko and her Jomvu counterpart Badi Twalib Badi.
Others were MP aspirants Said Abdalla ‘Saido’ (Nyali), Mohamed Machele (Mvita) and Goshi Juma Ali (Changamwe). Also present was Mombasa Women Representative Aspirant Zamzam Mohammed.

The over 200 aspirants vowed to back Nassir as the county consolidates ahead of ODM nominations and the August general elections.
Speaking to the leaders, Nassir urged the aspirants to campaign peacefully and stay in ODM even after nominations, promising to accommodate all.
