Lawmakers Expected in the 14-Member Bipartisan Talks Committee

The Kenya Kwanza and Azimio sides in Parliament are expected to nominate seven lawmakers each, for the 14-member bipartisan committee that will look into the issues raised by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

From the Senate, Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Chief Whip Boni Khalwale, and Deputy Majority Leader Tabitha Karanja will be representing the government side in the talks.

The group will be joined by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa and Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro as part of the 7-member team to represent President Ruto.

On the other hand, Raila Odinga has picked Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo, Minority Whip Ledama Ole Kina, Deputy Minority Leader Enoch Wambua, and Deputy Whip Edwin Sifuna in the Senate for the engagement. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, and Likoni MP Mishi Mboko will join the team.

The Azimio Coalition is holding its Parliamentary Group meeting in Machakos today where they will inform members on way forward.
