Kingi meets OKA principals amid talks of a new broader coalition

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi on Thursday met One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya). The Kilifi governor who is on his final term in office was ejected as the county’s ODM chairperson two weeks ago by the party’s leadership.

Already, the governor has a party registered under his name and is expected to be among the new and a broad coalition by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga. Pamoja Alliance (PAA) was given a registration certificate two months ago will be led by the county boss.

”As I respect the decision to replace me as the County ODM Chairman, I wish to take the opportunity to thank the party and more particularly the party leader, Mr. Odinga, for giving me the opportunity to serve, for the past nine years,” Mr. Kingi said after his removal from ODM.

According to sources within the corridors of power, the new alliance intends to bring together Jubilee, ODM, Wiper, ANC, KANU, Narck, Ford-Kenya, Maendeleo Chap Chap among other smaller parties from other regions under a single umbrella of national unity.
