The People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader, Martha Karua, has indicated that the country is ripe for a woman president.
Speaking in Isiolo County on Monday, April 21, 2025, Karua argued that the electorate should entrust a woman with the responsibility of bringing impactful change to the country.
Addressing a handful of her supporters in the northern part of the country, Karua opined that a woman president would tend to issues affecting the nation without neglecting others.
She used the example of how a mother takes care of her kids and the entire homestead to convince the locals to support a woman’s bid to lead the country.
While declaring interest in the top seat, Karua further explained that the unity of the nation would be achieved with a woman at the helm of power.
Mumejaribu wanaume siku izo zote, tafadhali wakati huu jaribuni mama kwa PLP,” she added.
