Interior CS Issues Shoot-to-Kill Order on Criminals Targeting Police

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has issued a shoot-to-kill order against any criminals targeting security officers or security camps.

Speaking on Friday in Baringo County while commissioning a General Service Unit (GSU) camp in Tiaty Constituency, Kindiki said any criminal shooting those who have been bestowed the duty to protect Kenyans will be dealt with ruthlessly.

Kindiki said the government will not profile or criminalize any community and also reminded security officers must be law-abiding citizens.

The CS reiterated the government of Kenya’s intentions to end insecurity in the region, adding that the Kenya Kwanza administration will install several paramilitary camps in Tiaty to quell incessant banditry in the area.

Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket welcomed the commissioning of the GSU camp and called for the government to allocate more administrative units to reclaim areas that bandits had taken as their safe haven.

Kamket further called for the deployment of National Police Reservists to complement the GSU officers in tracking down bandits who still reign in the area causing havoc.
