Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential campaigns spokesperson Hussein Mohammed has come under heavy criticism from Kenyans online, who have accused him of misleading the public William Ruto had visited US President Joe Biden’s residence, and the country’s seat of power- The White House.

In a tweet on Friday morning, the former Citizen TV journalist told UDA supporters the deputy president and fellow Kenya Kwanza principal Musalia Mudavadi led a delegation that was hosted at the White House in Washington DC in a closed-door meeting where issues of strategic partnership between U.S.A and Kenya were discussed.

However, Kenyans were unimpressed with the DP spokesperson’s tweet, some pointing out William Ruto and his delegation had not visited the White House, but the adjacent Eisenhower Executive Building and were misleading their supporters.

”Why don’t you say the truth. There is a difference between White House and Eisenhower Building. Ruto visited the latter,” Pauline Njoroge HSC wrote.

Her remarks were backed by Raila Odinga’s aide, Silas Jakakimba who told the veteran journalist DP William Ruto had no credentials or clearance to hold a meeting at the White House with senior US government officials on behalf of the Kenyan government.

”Ndugu, Is it some desperation of sorts? William does not have a White House Entry Clearance on this trip. He did not, will not have any meeting therein.”

Deputy President William Ruto is currently touring the US.
