Military Keen on Amicably Solving All its Land Disputes, CS Duale Says

Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale on Thursday, September 7th held a consultative meeting with the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Lands Hon. Nixon Korir, Chairman of the National Lands Commission (NLC) Mr Gershom Otachi and a team from Defence Headquarters to discuss the best approach to be adopted in resolving all disputes touching on military lands across the country for the mutual benefit of MoD and the community.

He said that the Ministry shall continue pursuing all avenues aimed at having cordial relations between MoD and the community that hosts military installations.

”We shall continue to explore all ways possible to remain good neighbours to all the communities that host us to enhance security across the country,” the Defense CS said.

Hon. Duale reaffirmed his commitment to finding amicable solutions for all military lands that have been encroached by squatters in various parts of the country so as to remain a good neighbour with the local community which is critical in the security architecture.

The CS was accompanied by Defence PS Mr Patrick Mariru, Vice Chief of Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi, Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of Personnel and Logistics (ACDF P&L) Major General David Keter, Chief of Legal Services Brigadier Yvonne Kerubo and Chief of Infrastructure Brigadier Titus Sokobe among others.
