Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi this morning met Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua, a key ally of ODM boss Raila Odinga. The meeting is coming just hours to the former prime minister’s Azio la Umoja Pwani chapter slated for Mombasa this weekend.

Governor Kingi, who has dumped ODM and is currently championing his new Pamoja Africa Alliance (PAA) is said to be in talks with senior allies of Mr. Odinga on how PAA and ODM will work hand in hand next year to ensure the region’s vote are locked in one basket.

Speaking last weekend in Taveta, ODM deputy leader Hassan Joho disclosed they were working on a formula, together with the region’s leaders to have them at the negotiating table.

‘We are looking for like-minded partners to help solve pertinent issues affecting the region like historical land injustices meted out against the communities by successive governments,” Joho said during the burial of Governor Granton Samboja’s cousin.

Previously, Governor Kingi has in the past said his decision of pushing the idea of a Coast-based political party will be of great benefit to Raila’s 2022 presidential bid, as it will lock out other parties from the strip.

After making stops in Nakuru, Homabay, and Kajiado counties to meet with the leaders of the respective regions for a 2022 partnership, Raila heads to the Coast.
