The Kenya Kwanza administration is uneasy with the growing Bunge La Mwananchi gatherings, sprouting across the country and there are plans to ban the forums as well as a crackdown on its organizers.
According to a source who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity, security agencies are concerned about the public gatherings, especially the ones held in Nairobi’s Jacaranda and Jivanjee areas which they believe are brewing dissent plus rebellion against William Ruto’s government.
Already, there are reports of the police going after Nairobi members of the Bunge La Mwananchi and today they raided Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East.
The Bunge La Mwananchi meetings are characterised by passionate discussions on governance, corruption, social welfare, and political developments in the country.
