The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has launched a recruitment drive for specialist nurses to work in Saudi Arabia, offering a competitive monthly salary of Ksh140,975.
This initiative, part of the ongoing partnership between Kenya and Saudi Arabia, aims to provide employment opportunities for qualified Kenyans as the country addresses rising youth unemployment.
“The State Department for Labour and Skills Development is pleased to announce a second recruitment drive for specialist nurses for employment in government hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Interested and qualified Kenyans are invited to apply,” stated Shadrack Mwadime, the Labour Principal Secretary.
President William Ruto recently revealed that 1,000 Kenyans are sent to work abroad weekly, with the added benefit that successful applicants will not incur air travel costs.
To qualify for these positions, candidates must be female Kenyan citizens under 45 years old, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a Nursing-Midwifery Diploma compliant with European Union standards.
Additional requirements include three years of post-secondary experience, registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya, and proficiency in English.
Successful applicants will be offered one-year renewable contracts, working eight-hour shifts, with overtime paid according to Saudi labour laws, along with annual paid vacations and free round-trip tickets.
Applications can be submitted through the Saudi Ministry of Health Recruitment Platform and the National Employment Authority job portal.
“Candidates must apply through both links,” PS Mwadime emphasized.
