Grammys Organisers Deny Receiving Money from Government

1 min read

The Grammy Awards organisers have clarified reports about hosting the 2025 ceremony in Kenya, denying claims of receiving funds from foreign governments.

President William Ruto on 10th December revealed that Kenya has officially placed a bid to host the Grammy Awards and has paid some Ksh. 500 million towards the same.

“We have already paid the Ksh. 500 million. This is not something we are planning to do; it’s already done,” President Ruto said. “I’m confident that the gentleman here from the Grammys can confirm that we’re on the right track to securing Kenya’s position in this exciting initiative.”

President Ruto spoke at a townhall meeting at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to commemorate the Hustler’s second anniversary.

However, an email purportedly from the Recording Academy, the body behind the Grammys, dismissed the reports. The message clarified that the 2025 Grammy Awards are scheduled for February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
