Elgeyo Marakwet MCAs have vowed to pass the BBI, after the neighbouring West Pokot unanimously passed the document in its county assembly this morning. West Pokot joins the counties of Siaya, Homabay, Kisumu and Busia which have passed the Building Bridges Initiative Constitutional (Amendment) Bill.
”We have read the BBI. The MCAs know how much the people of Elgeyo Marakwet will benefit from the addition of funds to 35%,” a source from the Elgeyo Marakwet confided to this publication.
The county senator Kipchumba Murkomen has been castigating the BBI as a document meant to overburden Kenyans and give political seats to ‘electoral losers’.
However, the consistent disinformation from Ruto allies, regarding the BBI, is slowly being dismantled with Kenyans realising the constitutional amendment bill will be of great benefit to the country.
In Baringo, the only county which rejected the document, pro-BBI MCAs have written to the county speaker seeking orders to stop him from certifying the results of the chaotic Friday 11 vote.
The MCAs want Speaker David Kerich not to act in any manner in terms of implementing the decision to reject the Bill. Over 30 MCAs voted to reject the document in a chaotic session on February 11th.
