Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is said to be engineering Lakipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri’s ouster as The Service Party Leader.
According to a source within Kenya Kwanza, the deputy president is uneasy with Mwangi Kiunjuri’s vocal push for the one man, one shilling revenue allocation formula which senior UDA leaders, including the President and his Deputy, opposed in the BBI Project.
”The plan involves The Service Party members of its Executive Committee and top delegates as well as party officials without the knowledge of the party leader. It is just a matter of time before a coup happens,” the source who spoke to this condition of anonymity noted.
”It is a supremacy battle for Mt Kenya and Kiunjuri cuts an image of a leader aware of issues facing the region. He is speaking what is in their hearts and has an appeal across Mt Kenya, unlike the DP,” she added.
Last week, the MP revealed Mt Kenya MPs are being intimidated via threatening phone calls by senior UDA leaders from the region so that they do not raise their voices on issues directly touching on Mt Kenya.
Speaking during an Interview with Inooro FM last Wednesday, Kiunjuri, also The Service Party leader said issues such as the unfair distribution of national resources and the push for one man one shilling revenue allocation formula are among those making the UDA leadership uncomfortable if pushed by the region’s MPs.
