The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has interdicted its Deputy CEO Ruth Kulundu over what insiders say is her association with the Four commissioners who were against Chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
The Deputy CEO who has been at loggerheads with the body’s CEO Hussein Marjan is believed to be the whistleblower who exposed the massive irregularities in the procurement of poll materials – a secret exercise under the watch of CEO Marjan and Chair Wafula Chebukati.
Ms. Kulundu has been the Commission’s Secretary for Operations since March this year.
Sources within IEBC say the Deputy CEO’s interdiction is part of a wider power play and realignments taking place in the electoral body which will see Chairperson Wafula Chebukati and CEO Hussein Marjan have a firm grip on the commission.
