Alice Wahome is addressing an important issue on a wrongly.
The Ruto regime is today most popular in the backyards of the ODM cabinet colleagues she seems to be attacking than in her own backyard of Kandara.
Wahome is among those who toxically destroyed ODM/Raila in Mt. Kenya but who now find herself having to deal with the “pork in Mecca”.
What Wahome should tell her people is that every Kenyan, including Raila Odinga, can be in government at any time — regardless of how such a govt has been formed — so that they do not shut the door entirely, locking certain people and communities out.
The challenge [that] Mt. Kenya people face today is their inability to reconcile the Kenya they have created in their heads with the real Kenya.
The Kenya in most Mt. Kenya people’s minds is one where ODM and Luos are locked out of government and are wailing and whining in opposition, their regions suffocated by state repression and underdevelopment.
They are used to a Kenya where Raila Odinga, especially, and his supporters are teargassed, brutalized and butchered; as they watch in satisfaction and refrain: huyo husumbuanga hivo…hao wamezoea…kimeibiwo…they have no stake in the economy…kihii…kipii, muganga, muguruki, mushawi na hizo ujinga zingine za wakikuyu.
They now have to deal with a Kenya where the ODM Party is no longer their bogey, but a critical player in the governance of Kenya.
There is no ODM cabinet member who has said they are not part of government. The new ODM Party members are the most aligned to Ruto, spending weekends in their bacyards explaining govt policy and programmes.
Had Wahome been spending every weekend in her village explaing “The Plan”, there would have been no need for President Ruto to expand the govt and bring in ODM.
As Wahome lectures ODM, her villagemates are trooping to DCP because of the many years she invested in toxic tribalism.
Wahome’s people are unable to understand how Mbadi/Wandayi can be in government while Raila is not — which is very easy to explain as Mbadi, Wandayi, Joho, Oparanya etc are NOT Raila Odinga.
Wahome needs to tell her people that it is possible for “ODM A” to be in govt while “ODM B” are outside, which is actually what we see with her own people where, despite their dominant numbers in the Ruto govt, they are also the same people today [who are] the LOUDEST in their rabid anti-Ruto rhetoric.
Wahome has the temerity to lecture Raila Odinga for saying he’s not in government, but very silent on Nyandarua Senator Methu, elected on UDA, referring to President Ruto as TAKATAKA.
The grandmother of toxic tribalism is on her way out — as was expected — to join Jayne Kihara and the other deplorables in the primitve tribalist’s hellcamp.
Ruto commited a cardinal sin: Luo inclusion. None of these Kikuyu tribalists will ever embrace the idea of Luos in government. Never. It is a bitter pill (quinine) to chew.
