Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies are now pushing for a Deputy President’s position inside the Azimio Movement, following revelations the former vice president has resolved to back Raila Odinga for the presidency once again.
On Saturday in Yatta, the Wiper boss is expected to announce his next political move following the disintegration of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA), an outfit that brought together Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Gideon Moi (KANU), and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) but has since been rocked with mistrust.
According to reports, Mr. Musyoka’s men have approached Raila to help them secure the DP post as well as positions in his government after President Uhuru exits house on the hill in August.

The weekend meeting at the former vice president’s farm comes at a time when three Ukambani governors, Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) are pushing for Raila Odinga’s presidency in the Lower Eastern region, and have greatly clipped Kalonzo Musyoka’s wings and influence.
”We will have to ask ourselves apart from power politics and the quest for positions, what should the community do in order to consolidate its stake and protect its overall political interest. We have to interrogate our stake in the Government as a community and ask ourselves what we have gained in the past ten years,” Governor Kibwana said yesterday.
With Mr. Musyoka joining Raila’s Azimio Movement, it spells demise of OKA. Apart from Kalonzo, Gideon Moi of KANU has also shown his support for Odinga’s presidential bid and is expected to join the team in coming days.
